Social Care Volunteering
Programme
Revive Community Development origins stemmed from the health and social care sector therefore it is important it remains an integral part of our activities.
Evidence indicates that the single most important cause of skills deficiencies within health and social is a lack of experience among newly recruited staff. The skills gap is likely to worsen in future as more experience staff retire. Our social care volunteering programme encourages people to view health and social as a valued and rewarding career choice and gives people opportunities to gain relevant work experience and possible employment
Many older people experience loneliness and isolation within our local communities and may not be accessing appropriate services or engaging in activities that may to help improve their health and wellbeing.
We want to respond to specific needs effecting older people within Wolverhampton that promote social inclusion, independence and dignity. With this is mind Revive Community Development volunteers known as “health champions” who befriend and promote health improvement amongst older people
